The Best Roofer – Readers’ Choice Awards 2017
Imagine waking up one morning to discover you’ve been voted the best roofer in the county.
The Marin Independent Journal ran a readers’ poll for the first time this year, for “the best” in a number of categories. Booth & Little won as the best roofer in the Home Improvement and Services category.
Who Voted?
According to the newspaper, “these choices are the result of electronic ballots exhaustively counted and reviewed.” When asked why Booth and Little won, Darren Little smiles and says, “Maybe it’s our almost 100 year history in Marin County.”
In an industry where many roofing companies only last 3 to 7 years, longevity is no small accomplishment. Working with a roofer who has history in a community has its advantages, like familiarity with:
- Building codes and permits
- Planning departments, and;
- Local, reputable roofing suppliers.
Booth and Little’s staff are well-trained, skilled roofing professionals. Their average length of employment is 16 years.
Historical Knowledge a Plus
When you’ve been in the business for as long as Booth and Little, new isn’t always better. Take roofing materials.
Los Angeles was one of the first counties to ban wooden shake shingles in the late 80’s. After the Oakland hills’ fire, in 1991, California tried to ban wooden shake shingles statewide, even those treated with fire retardants.
In the scramble to create composite shake shingles that could meet the new fire-safety standards, the first attempt failed. The shingles decomposed in a matter of just a few years.
So Booth and Little won’t recommend a new roofing material unless it’s passed the test of time.
These are just a few reasons Marin voters chose Booth and Little. Whatever the reason – thank you for voting us the best in 2017.
